- Attend school every day on time unless you are sick. If you have to miss school, bring a
note explaining why you missed school.
- Parent notes are allowed for ten (10) days of absences. Don’t get “unexcused absences” for not
bringing notes or for missing too many days.
- Arrive on time. 7:55. Three late days count as an absence.

- Remember, you are responsible for your behavior.
- Follow the Student Code of Conduct.
- Follow classroom rules and school rules.
- Cooperate with your teachers and other adults.
- Follow the laws of the State of Delaware.
- Be a student with good character.

- Each student signs a “Behavior Agreement”
- The “Behavior Agreement” says that you understand the rules of your
classroom, the school, and the bus.
- If you don’t understand something, you need to ask.
- Pay careful attention to the following slides about behavior so you will
know just what to do in school and on the bus.

- Police will be Involved:
- Assault against another student or school worker
- What is an assault? Intentionally causing injury.
- Using a pencil to stab or poke
is considered an assault.
- Extortion
- What is extortion? Threatening
others for goods or money.
- Terroristic threatening and bomb
threats
- Possession of an unlawful controlled substance (drug)

- A safe school does not have any weapons, or look-alike weapons, brought
to school. --This includes: plastic or toy- guns, knives, BB guns, and swords, and razor
blades. House Bill 171 was passed
to help make schools safer.
- Any student who brings a weapon to school could be expelled for one(1)
year--180 days.

- No one should put his or her hands on another person in a way that makes
them feel uncomfortable
- No one should make inappropriate comments, jokes, or drawings about another person or
their body.
- If someone bothers you at school or on the bus, report it to a teacher,
the counselor, or an administrator.

- No-Verbal threats involving injury/ harm
- No Cussing
- Teasing will not be tolerated. If
you provoke someone, then the police may determine it is
harassment. This includes words,
telephone, and mail.
- Control Your Anger- Seek help from adults or the peace bridge
- Don’t say “something” that leads to a suspension!
