BAKING BREAD IN FIRST GRADE

In conjunction with our literature story "The Little Red Hen", East Millsboro Bakery trained all first graders to make their very own loaf of bread.  With the help of the Bread Make Baking Kit by Total Health, Inc., each child measured, mixed, and kneaded the dough with the help of a partner.  After it rose and filled the pan, Mrs. Brobst and her wonderful cafeteria staff baked the loaves.  Everyone took their bread home to share with their families.  It was very hard work but well worth the effort!
